    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: Gloria N. Stone To: admin@lists2.rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, December 15, 2001 2:12 PM Subject: Senior Moments Fran, I have my "Senior Moments" often now at 75 years, so I am not sure I am doing this correct. I am searching for anything that would give me the parents of Artamissa Ledbetter. She was born in July 1867 ref. 1900 Census in Craighead Co. Finally found trace of her in HH of W. Bowen, Gibson Co., Tenn in 1880. Believe to be her uncle as she is listed as a niece. Have a document of Power of Attorney that she gave B.S. her husband in 1895 in an estate disbursement of Robert Bowen. She mar: B.S. Lunsford 28 Jan 1886. They had 8 children including twins. B.S. d: 24 Oct 1907 and is bur: in Pleasant Grove Cem. in Jonesboro, Craighead Co. Through documents I know she was still alive in 1895 and then in 1905 through a land sale she was not listed as a wife, it was crossed out, so I assume she had died by then. The family story is that she had the twins in 1904, and in 1906 one twin died and then in 1907 B.S. died, she died somewhere between 1904 and 1905. Is there anything in any o! f your old newspaper files on her death in Jonesboro or surrounding vacinity at that time. So far have not found her father and mother. She was born in Tenn. This has been a long frustrating search. Lots of conflicting stories about this family but anything about her would be appreciated. Thank you, Gloria "Doe" Stone glorian@bluebonnet.net

    3. Thank you, I am in touch with several other Autrey researchers, but haven't connected with anyone who, we can prove, is related to my Matilda. Yes, she was born in 1811, think in either Tennessee, Alabama, or unknown, all I have are notations on census records and of course, those are notoriously inaccurate. I have seen records that say her first child was born in Alabama, but they were in Arkansas by the late 1830's or early 1840's, first in Independence County, Hot Spring County, then in Pike County in 1860. With things changing as they did, they may not have moved from Hot Springs to Pike County, but the county boundry may have changed. She may always be a mystery. Thanks for responding. 1. [AR-OLD-NEWS] Henry Family
    2. Any newspapers in the Franklin County area of Old Donald Township. I am trying to find information or articles on my great grandfather William P. Henry death. He died between 1890-1900. Believe he was part Cherokee, he was on the Drennen Roll with his three oldest children in 1851 in Oklahoma. On my grandfathers death certificate it stated his fathers name as Major Henry, not William P. Henry. Have no idea what that means. Any help would be appreciated. I live in Colorado, but would make a trip back to Arkansas if there are newspapers from that area that could possibly help me., Verna Eichhorn

    3. [I love these old obituaries!] October 28, 1903: DUNN - Mary E. Dunn (nee Strong) was born in Calhoun county, Ark., August 8, 1857, and died at her home (Little Bay) in Calhoun county, Ark., September 1, 1903. She was the daughter of I. B. and L. B. Strong. She was converted in early life under the ministry of J. R. Harvey and joined the M. E. Church, South, in which she remained a consistent member until death. She was married to Dr. C. B. Dunn, July 5, 1876. To them were born twelve children. Six of them preceded her to the better land, and six are left to mourn their loss. To them we can say, "Weep not as those who have no hope," for you know where to find mamma. And to the mourning husband we would say, Look up and take courage, you can meet Mollie in the "sweet by an by," where partings will be no more. "Mollie" as she was familiarly known, was a most faithful and a true mother, in every sense of the word. There was always in her life a sublime faith in spiritual realities, and to all who knew her she was a true type of Christian womanhood, consistent, kind, gentle and considerate of the welfare of others. Mourning ones look to Jesus, who is able to heal your bleeding hearts and comfort you in your sorrows. Yes, look to him who is able to save to the uttermost and finally bring you together again, an unbroken family around His throne in heaven, there to dwell with mother throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.
