Apparently, dog tags from individuals who served in Vietnam who were either missing in action, killed in action, or simply individuals who lost their tags are being sold in Ho Chi Min City on the streets. There are a group of blessed individuals who are buying these up and making them available free of charge to family members of these individuals. The site is called www.founddogtags.com. I hope it can be of help to you or your loved ones. To all my Applewhite cousins. Today I received my 1880 census cd's from the LDS library. While looking for all the brothers of my great-grandfather, A. B. Applewhite, I found his parents, John and Hannah! I was so excited . . .. . I screamed . . .. my husband and son came running. They thought something had happened to me!!!!!!!! I have thought for years that they must have died during the Civil War. But, they moved to Calhoun Co., MS with their son, William. Pam

Posted on: APPLEWHITE Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/a/p/APPLEWHITE/queries/10003 Surname: Applewhaite, Applewhite, Kingsland ------------------------- I stand corrected! The Henry who married Hester Kingsland is not the immigrant to VA. Nor has it been proven that Henry II was from Barbados. My apologies to the board.

I am looking for ANY information on my gg-grandad. The Llano co. Tx.cencus of 1880 has him listed as John Barnes Applewhite w.m. married to Annie (Teague) w.f. His father is from N.C. and his mother is from Ga. From what I can figure they divorced around 1890-1897. He moved to Titus co. Tx. around 1893, where he dropped the Applewhite from his name. There are records at the Titus co. court house where he bought land in what is still known as the Piney community in 1893. The 1900 cencus shows that his former wife had been married to a Harve Putman for three years at the time of the 1900 census. John Barnes Applewhite died in 1906(only date on headstone) and is burried in the Greenhill cemetary in Titus co. ANY information would be GREATLY appreciated. Johnny Applewhite Mt. Pleasant, Titus co. Texas
Thank you, Mary, for becoming the admin. of this list!! I have been looking for my APPLEWHITE family for years. Hopefully something here will ring a bell. I am still looking for the parents of Annie E. APPLEWHITE, b. 9/15/1846 in probably TN or MS [although in 4 different census, she gave 4 different states which included IN and KY]. She married abt. January 1870, unknown place, David O. WILKINS, and they lived in Carroll Co. KY until the late 1890's. They were in Daviess Co., KY in 1900. I have not been able to locate a death certificate for her, and I don't know what happened to her after 1900. Her mother-in-law died in 1903, Cincinnati, and everyone left the area. Her husband's family went to OK but her husband remarried in 1904 Ella C. APPLEWHITE, sister of Mary APPLEWHITE, daughters of Arthur APPLEWHITE. Ella & Mary were born in TN [ ca1852, 1841, respectively]. They consistently stated their mother's place of birth as Maryland. Ella, Mary and David were living together in 1910 in Waller Co., TX. David died before 1920 but both women remained in Waller Co., TX. I have been going on an assumption these APPLEWHITE women were related and that's how David O. WILKINS came to marry Ella and moved to Waller Co., TX. I had hoped they were sisters, but I have census records with Arthur, Mary and Ella together from 1860, and there is never an Annie E. listed. Arthur APPLEWHITE lived in Austin Co./Waller Co., TX area in 1860 & 1870. Arthur APPLEWHITE was a physician born in VA ca 1796. He was living next door to Mary Jane Allen APPLEWHITE and her children in one census. She was married to a Horace APPLEWHITE in 1857, TX. Some researchers believe Horace and Arthur are the same person. It is possible [a preponderance of evidence] this Arthur is the son of Charlotte Clifton APPLEWHITE, wife of Hardy APPLEWHITE. She died 1838 in Williamson Co., TN. I have 2 APPLEWHITE families with some kind of connection. Arthur's family is traceable through census, and I believe he is Hardy APPLEWHITE's son. However, my Annie E. APPLEWHITE is still homeless. I don't have a single vital for her: no birth, marriage, death [and I have really looked!!]. I don't know how she came to marry a Kentuckian and live in KY. I don't know why her husband remarried an APPLEWHITE in TX. Just one little clue would be so extremely appreciated!!! Thanks so much!
