In 1860 they were enumerated in Champaign City, Champaign County, Illinois In 1862 Elizabeth Applegate died and was buried in Piatt County, Illinois. In 1870 (I believe in Macon County, IL, but have misplaced my copy of that Census) In 1880 with William J Applegate as head of household they were enumerated in Maroa Township, Macon County, Illinois (Samuel was no longer with this branch of the family) In 1880 Samuel was living in Joliet, Will County, Illinois with his second family.
