Mary Margaret Applegate Clay died Friday, September 8, 2006 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born March 15, 1935, at Spiceland, Henry Co., IN. She was the first Miss Henry County. In 1953 she married Walter Ringel Clay who survives along with two daughters, Carolyn Jane Clay (Dr. Mark A.) Truax, Crawfordsville, Janet Sue Clay (James E.) Putnam, Knightstown; one brother, Theodore Philip (Betty) Applegate, Spiceland; one sister, Esther D. Applegate; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip Clifford and Dorothy Elizabeth Black Applegate and a brother, Earl Douglas Applegate.
