Pat, Here is what I have that I found in searching the internet. Cornelius father was Amos Sutton, born July 16, 1723, Piscataway, Middlesex City, NJ. Mother Jane Clawson [Eropean spelling Claes] born April 3, 1728, Montgomery, Somerset City, NJ. I am not related to the Elizabeth Applegate that some say was american indian. I am related as Sutton, Maxson, to Smith in Ohio.
