Samuel P. Applegate and Judith Rogers only had two children: Harriett Ann Applegate married Jacob William Reeder and John W. Applegate married Lucy LNU I have held Harriett's photo album in my hands and leafed through it, we were able to tell the lady who has it who the pictures were of and got to scan in most of them before it got too late in the night. I have stood on the land she homesteaded in Rooks Co., KS and stood at the foot of her grave. Her daughter kept a daily journal of their 400 plus mile trip from Warren Co., MO to Rooks Co., KS. Jacob Reeder died 9 Apr 1874 In Warren Co., MO where he is buried with two of their children - Blanche & George. She and the remaining children left for KS in two wagons and she drove one of the wagons. All the children that were old enough took up homesteads around hers. I have numerous pictures of her and some of her children, also one of her and the children with their spouses all dressed up posed on the front porch probably taken after the funeral services of Sherman Reeder.
