Thanks for the question. I am far from "finished" but I am happy to say my relatively recent Applegate relatives seem to be finally coming out of hiding. I have Richard Applegate and wife Rebecca Spriggs Applegate that married in Scioto County Ohio in 1847, spent a couple of years in Greenup County Kentucky and then spent about 20 years in Campbell County Kentucky in the late 1870s before the entire family seemed to disappear without a trace leaving my Great Grandmother and her husband behind. It turns out that the family moved across the Ohio River into Cincinnati Ohio where they managed to hide from the census taker in 1880. I have recently discovered that both Richard and Rebecca are buried about a mile from where I live and I now have their death dates. I have also recently found marriage records and sometimes more for 3 of their daughters in Cincinnati and I have found additional information on a fourth daughter and their son. I am continuing to follow up on those branches of the family tree and to search for information of Richards parents and earlier ancestors.
