Hi Dan, I am working on it. I always thought that my connection to the Applegate Family, Mary L. Applegate, born 1819 in Ky. and married to Sidney B. Triplett, was the daughter of William H. Applegate and Catherine Matlida Clarke. But on her last birth record, she said she was born in Jessamine Co., and not in Scott Co., KY. . I found her on the 1850 census of Scott County, KY. I had supposed that she was born there. But now, I'm beginning to wonder. I have not found any trace of this family in Jess. County, KY. There is an Applegate there, but I don't see a connection. Also can't find her death record, my mother told me that at the time of her funeral, she was across the street attending school. And saw it through the classroom window. I thought about her marrying again and found a likely entry. But facts don't seem to be fitting there either, one of several roadblocks that I am dealing with now. I have put a lot of my info up at Ancestry.com family tree of Shoffner Mahaffey Tree.
