    2. Richland, Iowa was listed on her Samantha Gregory Applegates death certificate as her birth place. someone said that they found both of them in 1880 in Osborne, KS. I have not gone into that any further. I did get some Gregory info from somewhere (can't remember now) but with Zimri as a first name it was easy to locate him. My main mission is to find where William was from and who his parents were? Thanks for your interest. Coral

Bordentown is in Burlington County. He lived in a fascinating house, one of 7 (?) built about 1795, if I remember correctly. The important thing is that I believe he had an Achsah Applegate in his ancestry. My own Applegate ancestors had lived in Bordentown toward the end of the 1700s, and had owned a tavern frequented by important Revolutionary figures like Thomas Paine. Mr. Applegate did not realize that there had even been Applegates there that early. His Applegates were not mine directly, but of course were probably part of the huge Applegate family whose information has been collected by Hugh Voress. I know this doesn't help you find your Achsah, but at least it may give you hope! Verna Gail "V.G." I have checked out several William's but never seems to be the right one. Son John Applegate was born in Iowa 1852.

    1. [APPLEGATE] Looking for Achsah (Asha)?
    2. Richard Applegate married Achsah? and gave birth to my ggggrandmother, Maria(h) Applegate Robbins on 9/4/1801. William T. Robbins married Maria(h), on 1/12/1825 in Burlington County, which may have been the present Mercer County. I am their descendant. I am hoping someone on the list will have more information on the Applegate line around the early 1800's. I have bookmarked the Google sight for Applegate family genealogy and will look into that also. TYIA Lynn

    3. My Mary Applegate married Andrew Jackson McNail in St Clair County, Belleville, Illinois, August 5, 1841. This event is on the Applegate site but no tie in to that line. From her age on the marriage certificate I have her born about 1824 in New Jersey which is also verified on various census records.. Andrew Jackson McNail died in 1880 and after that date I find her in Colorado with various spelling of McNeal, McNeil. I am looking for her parents in New Jersey, or maybe they moved with her to Illinois. I have no clue. Kay Winnert

    2. Dear Nancy, I have a Mary Applegate in my database but not yours. I know there is a lot of infomration on the Applegate family in America. My Mary married John Dye I think in the mid 1700's also in NJ. ( don't have my database open right now) I've followed the DYE family. another place for you to look is The Dye Society as they have a lot of info on the Applegates. If you do a search on google you should be able to find it. Good Luck, Bridget Couch
