    2. Brenda Reeder
    3. I have scanned in all the pictures out of her photo album. There is one picture in there that is written on the back: Miss Mittie Applegates picture. Does anyone know who it could be or who her parents are. It looks to be pre civil war from the chair, boots, hat, dress, & earrings. It does have a painted backdrop but she looks to be about 11 to 13 years of age. Knowing who she is & who her parents are could prove helpful in determining who Harriet's parents are. Could the picture be niece, a sister, or a picture of herself? I'll send the picture to anyone interested. Thanks Brenda Reeder

    2. Brenda Reeder
    3. I'll get things started! I am interested in the parents and any siblings of Harriett Ann Applegate. She was born 25 Jan 1829 near Louisville, Jefferson Co. KY. She married Jacob William Reeder 2 Nov 1848 in Jefferson Co. KY. They went back to Clermont Co. Ohio and lived for a short time and where we believe their first child Hilda was born in about 1851. By 8 Jul 1852 they had moved to Tipton, Cedar Co. IA where Addie Cynthia was born. By 24 June 1853 when Thomas Taylor was born they were living in Davenport, Scott Co. IA. But moved back to Tipton by about 1855 where Jesse was born and also Hudson Guy was born there on 30 Mar 1857. On the 1860 census they are living in Clinton, Clinton Co. IA. Their next child Scott Winfield was born in Cedar Co. but town unknown on 3 Mar 1861. Their next child is only know to be born in IA Sherman Demitt on 31 Jan 1863. By 29 Nov 1867 they had all moved to Warrenton, Warren Co. MO where Sallie Louella was born and their next two children Blanche A. and George G. were also born there and died there and are buried in the Camp Branch Cemetery (now Taylor Cemetery) in Jonesburg, Warren Co. MO. They also had one other child died young but their birth date and place and death date and place are unknown. Her husband Jacob William Reeder died also in Warrenton on 9 Apr 1874 and are buried beside Blance and George. On the 30 Sept 1878 Hattie and all the children pack up in two wagons and left Warrenton and homesteaded in Elm Creek, Rooks Co. Kansas. Addie Cynthia Reeder wrote a daily journal of their trip and it is posted at http://home.comcast.net/~reederfamilyreunion/dailyjournal.htm They arrived in Stockton Kansas on October 23, 1878. She and all the children took up homesteads along Elm Creek. Hattie remarried on 14 Oct 1891 in Rooks Co. to Isaac Farrier and she died on 23 Mar 1911 in Stockton and is buried in the Stockton Cemetery. Any help on who her parents are and any siblings would be appreciated. Thank Brenda Reeder

    3. I think you are talking about the Jacob Applegate who was in Bracken Co, KY. This is the second time I have heard a reference to him being probably in Louisville Ky. Bracken Co KY is must farther to the east between Cincinnati, Oh and Maysville, KY. Anyway, Jacob Applegate married 1) 1849 in Bracken co to Nancy Henry. They are on the 1850 census there. He married 2) 1852 to Elizabeth Henry. 1860 census Bracken CoKY, Brooksville P.O.: Jacob Applegate 33, Elizabeth 27, Amanda 9 [child by first wife], James 6, Melvina 4, Anaylou 2, Patrick H 1/12 They moved from KY to MO between 1866-70 1870 MO, Putnam Co Jacob Applegate 43, Elizabeth 39, Melvinia 14 Ky, A nnie 11 KY, Henry C 10 KY [?same as Patrick H], Katie 7 KY, Mollie 4 Ky 1880 MO Putnam Jacob Applegate53, Elizabeth 48 wife, Mary 14 One Bracken Co birth record shows: " Nancy M. Applegate b. Feb 4, 1856, father Jacob Applegate, mother Elizabeth Henry" [ = Nancy Melvina Applegate] I have his marriage records, more on some of his sibs, and his mother Catherine 1850 in Bracken Co.if you want them. Barbara Applegate Richards --------------------------------- Sunday 14 Sep 2003 From: MFiegler@aol.com To APPLEGATE-L@rootsweb. com JACOB APPLEGATE FAMILY- MISSOURI & KENTUCKY 1827 Looking for any information regarding the Jacob Applegate family. He was born ca 1827 in Missouri. About 1855 he married Elizabeth H. unknown, who was born in Kentucky. They apparently lived in Kentucky , possibly Louisville, from about 1856 through 1866 as all their children were born there. The children are: Melissa, b. ca 1856 Annie, b ca 1859 Henry C., b ca 1860 Catherine, b June 23, 1863 in Louisville and Mary, b ca 1866. By 1870 the family had returned to Missouri and were living in Unionville, Putnam County. Jacob and his wife and the last child were still there in 1880. Catherine Applegate, my g-grandmother was married by then and also living in Unionville with her husband Henry Franklin Hughes. I believe the other 3 children were also still in the area. Any info would be appreciated.
