Hi Wade Glad to have been helpfull. I should have given credit. The snippet I send was from Hugh's opus. Heck, it even has me in it and I am descended from an illiterate twig on the tree and spell the name Appelget. Have fun Tony In God we trust

Does this help? 1D4A. Ebenezer Applegate, born c1745; died . He married _____, born ; died . He was the executor of his father's estate and received more than the other heirs. He may be the Ebenezer Applegate whose death was reported on Mar. 20, 1802 in the Apr. 6, 1802 issue of True American. Donald T. Applegate's records suggest that Ebenezer's wife may have been Lucretia Byrd, sister of Sarah Byrd who married Ebenezer Applegate, son of Jacob Applegate and Esther Irons. Children: 1D4A1. Thomas Loveland Applegate, born Oct. 22, 1792 (in Toms River, NJ(?)); died there on Jan. 16, 1868. He married in 1816 to Hannah L. Thompson, born Oct. 19, 1796 in St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada; died at Toms River, NJ on Dec. 10, 1871, daughter of Timothy Thompson (1768-1808) and Hannah Thompson (died 1803). Thomas and Hannah are buried at Cedar Grove Methodist Cemetery. Thomas was a farmer most of his life and according to his great granddaughter, Lillian Frankenfield Duke of St. Paul, Minn., "He must have had a big farm for he sailed his crops around to New York to sell". Family tradition indicated that Thomas served in the War of 1812 as a teamster but search of the records at the National Archives in Washington, DC and state records in Trenton, NJ have not confirmed this tradition. He was Overseer of the Highways for 1829, 1837, 1845, 1846, and 1847 and served as Trustee of Cedar Grove Methodist Church. 1905 – letter At one time, someone asked me if I knew who were the parents of Mary Johnson who married Garret Applegate in Allegheny Co., PA. Since that time I have received a copy of a letter written by J. Sutton Wall in 1905. The following confirms who the father of Mary was, but not the mother. J. Sutton Wall was talking about the Solomon and his father Peter Johnson and their families of Allegheny County, PA. Following is an extract: “I have a list of all of his children and dates of birth. I do not know where Solomon Johnson lived when he died. Their [Solomon and siblings] half sister Mary Johnson married Garret Applegate the father of James and grandfather of John Applegate who was neighbor to my father, and whom you remember very well.” J.
