Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZGB.2ACEB/100 Message Board Post: I have a project of taking headstone photos here in Canyon County, Idaho. While taking these photos I sometimes like to try and find relatives to send them to. This photo really turned out to be a nice photo. It was taken in the Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho. The headstone is for William Francis Apperson (1847?-1924) and wife Mary Angeline Apperson (1855-1922). There seems to be some question about the date of birth for William. The headstone shows 1847, but the Idaho Death Index shows 1849. The 1900 Kansas census shows August, 1847 and also shows his father to be born in Virginia and his mother in North Carolina. In the 1910 and 1920 census he is here in Canyon County, Idaho. I would be more than happy to share this photo for those that would like it.

Hi APPERSON-L, Am new here and wanting to post for information on two separate APPERSON marriages. Marston GREEN s/o Thomas GREEN & Elizabeth MARSTON b. Of Amelia Co. Virginia d. m. 19 Dec 1766 Elizabeth APPERSON I think that Marston GREEN above is brother to the William GREEN referred to in the following: "Thomas STUBBLEFIELD & John HACKLEY were on the vestry of St. Mark's Parish, Culpepper Co. Virginia 1752, and in 1757 we find that William GREEN and Col. Wm RUSSELL were made church wardens of the ensuing year, and Robert EASTMAN vestryman in place of Thomas STUBBLEFIELD, deceased" Thomas STUBBLEFIELD m. Ellen HACKLEY. They have a son Peter STUBBLEFIELD who marries Margaret "Peggy" APPERSON d/o John APPERSON & Margaret unknown. This John APPERSON wrote his will 11 June 1785 Spotsylvania Co. Virginia. This Peter STUBBEFIELD removed to Wilkes Co. Georgia in 1785 and therafter to Columbia Co. Georgia. He died without issue. Peggy APPERSON STUBBLEFIELD likely married again, but I have no record at this time. She was still young so remarrying a very likely probability I should think. I descend from GREENs and STUBBLEFIELDs via completely different sets of great-grandparents and I can't believe they seem to link 100 years prior half way across America. The link here is the APPERSON marriages that hint so strongly they link. Anyone know any of the above APPERSONs? james wall
Hello Interested Readers, I had this list made in order to further APPERSON Genealogy. Here it is my intention to have a discussion of all things APPERSON Genealogy, and very little else. My personal line of APPERSON ends up in Oklahoma, but prior to that it was Logan County, Kentucky. Prior to that, they were in Buckingham and Cumberland Counties, Virginia. Prior to that, they were in St. Peter's Parish of New Kent and James City Counties, Virginia. Prior to that, I have no idea except to say that I don't think they descend from Duc D'espernon. I have a couple of pages devoted to APPERSON Genealogy on my home page. The first is more about my line that I mention above, and can be found here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gbonner/apperson.html The second page is my transcription (and digital images) of an old family Bible that contains some APPERSON information, and which can be found here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gbonner/bible/apperson.html It is my hope that others will join me here on the list and post information about their APPERSON families and also to make inquiries on same. I would just point out that there is also an EPPERSON list here at RootsWeb, wherein you may also find that which you seek. Cheers, Gregg Bonner APPERSON ListAdmin (and great great grandson of Anna Jutson (Apperson) Smotherman)
