He served in the Army from 28 May 1941 to 2 May 1946. Michael was called Mickey. He was my father's youngest brother. Their parents were: Maria Marcelino Apodaca, b. July 1, 1867 Mora Co, NM Abelina Madrid, b. abt 1889 in Madrid, CO Siblings were: Maria EVA b. 1895 [half sister by Marcelino's 1st marriage] Anthony b. 1897 [half brother by Marcelino's 1st marriage] Floyd [Eloy] b. 1907 [by marriage to Abelina Madrid] Adelina [Adeline] b. 1910 Audillo [Joseph L] b. 1912 Julia b. 1914 David L [Valdez] b. 1916 - raised by Maria Eva & Ben Valdez Estella [Stella] b. 1918 Michael [Mickey] b. 1920 I know my father was 'adopted' by Eva & Ben Valdez, and raised as Valdez. I remember him referring to Julia and Stella as 'cousins' even tho he knew they were his sisters. He didn't learn that they were his sisters until later in life, and was bitter to find out that all of his 'cousins' were actually his brothers & sisters. Mickey was also given up for 'adoption' but have no information on the adoptive family. However, Mickey's military records are 'APODACA' so I have to assume that he went by his birth name by the time he enlisted. I am unable to find him on any of the US Census records. I have no idea if he knew of his siblings either. Mickey was married & divorced. He also had children, although I have no further information. I am researching my father's family and would like to connect with Mickey's children. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
