Here we go: My grandfather, Juan Jr. was born in 1892. Although my evidence is only fragmentary, I believe he married/had children with Hortense Equrrola (no other info on her). They had two daughters, Sylvia (about 1923) and Consuela (1925). Apparently, there was also a son (name unknown) who disappeared abruptly as a child. They lived in Montebello, CA. Sylvia married Andrew Padilla and they produced Andrew Jr (about 1948) and Elizabeth (about 1951). Consuela Married William Moore and produced William (about 1950) and twins Patrick and Michael (about 1954 - both now dead). For awhile in the 1950's, they all live in El Monte, CA. OK, Mary, that's the broad overview. I have lots of family lore and other bits and pieces to share. For example, Juan Jr. was an exceedingly large man for both the time and ethnic group. He was 6'2" to 6'3" and about 220, mostly in chest and shoulders. He was also a street brawler. My first experience with a switchblade and brass knuckles were with his. At the end, when informed he had an inoperable brain tumor (about 1983) he went home, said some goodbyes, went to garage, and used his favorite gun to end his life. He is buried at Rose Hills in Whittier, CA. Hope this helps. Also hope you have some pieces to share like who was Leonicia Apodaca from October 20, 1859 and why does the name "Mary" keep popping up in the Apodaca line? Everytime I asked my mother that question, I received a "don't want to talk about it" reply. Bye. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
