Virgene > I was ready to change to free Zone Alarm, Avast, and some of the anti-spyware programs, but I am not that well focused to begin messing with something that is not familiar. I have had Norton for several years, until now, and apparently will *have* to do something different. In your position, I'd be inclined to go for :- Anti-virus : AVG - although Avast is also highly rated. Firewall : ZoneAlarm. Anti-spyware and other nuisances : Spybot Search and Destroy, SpywareBlaster and Ad-Aware. Most of these can be picked up from the two usual places - www.majorgeeks.com or www.download.com. You might be interested to note that the "Past meetings" section of this society's website - http://www.ofhs.org.uk/met.html - often contains speaker's notes for our computer meetings. The notes on "Useful Little Programs" contain something on anti-virus software. Best wishes.
