It updates itself regularly and I can highly recommend it as effective. I'm not sure that the offerings of AOL are the same in all countries. I might be wrong, but I guess that you're in the US ? The position in the UK is that :- 1. the McAfee anti-virus program is offered without extra charge to those who take AOL Broadband Platinum and AOL Broadband Gold. 2. the McAfee anti-virus program is offered to those who take AOL Broadband Silver on payment of an additional monthly fee. 3. the McAfee anti-virus program is not offered to those who take AOL on a dial-up connection.
