You do need to have the software to do so though. I'm probably not the best one to answer your question on this topic though since I've been on a cable hookup for many years and cable doesn't permit a computer to be used for faxing. This might be a good question to ask on the SENIOR-NEWBIE list where we have quite a few computer experts if no one on this list is able to help you. Joan
