AOL kept reverting back to trying to autodial. Here's what I did to correct the problem. First I noticed that I was using a LAN for connection and not the dialup/VPN connection. My LAN uses a cable modem and a wireless router. Using the system admin ID, I (1) went into the Control Panel, (2) opened Internet options, (3) went to Connections, and (4) removed Dial-Up/VPN configuration. Voila! It hasn't been back since. Hmmmm...I went to Control Panel but I don't have anything that says Internet Options--I guess my equivalent is Network Connections. I opened that and saw three choices: Dial-up which has a check mark and AOL ENABLED LAN or High-Speed internet ENABLED DELL True-Mobile 1300 WLAN Network Bridge ENABLED, Bridged This doesn't sound exactly the same as what you are seeing and by "removing" I assume you mean you removed the check mark in the Dial-up setting?
