Hello, all, Beginning yesterday, I believe it was, mail from _HESSE-L@rootsweb.com_ (mailto:HESSE-L@rootsweb.com) suddenly began landing in my spam folder after months of successfully getting it in my regular mail. It is better to use "illegitimate" In German church books you find "unehelich", "illegal" and "ausserehelich", "illegitim". All means the same. (An old German word for a child from an unmarried couple was "Bangert".) Sometimes the couple married later and the child was bound to this marriage. In most cases the pastor was not friendly with the mother who had a child and no father. Some of them looked to punish that wife "for her sin" in all possible allowed ways.
