I don't know how large your uds file is, but you should seriously consider "biting the bullet" and switching to another program as Generations is a dead program. I'd suggest either Legacy or TMG. Legacy is easier to use as TMG has a very long learning curve, but that is your decision. The other option is to invest in an Apple computer and purchase Reunion, which is the Apple version of Generations. Your uds file should import into Reunion with little or no problems. Switching to either Legacy or TMG will involve a lot of work to correct import problems. -- Believe it nor not, I have purchased 2 new genealogy software programs already and not used them. The thought of transferring all my data is daunting (my main uds file is over 9 Mb) and I'm not easily daunted by new programs. I'm also uncertain which program I would like the best. I have been very, very happy with Generations format and abilities and rather sad when it was sold and then discontinued. Since I just bought a new computer, I doubt that I'll invest in an Apple and purchase Reunion. I've got to find something that will work for me with my PC. Sharon
