Lloyd Lloyd- I gues I didn't make the specific point I was trying to get across--that by "redundancy" of saving important files I meant saving in different places. In other words, God forbid, you had a fire in your house or flood or earthquake or other disaster--having a file saved locally even on two different hard drives wouldn't protect your file. Having you file save in a place physically removed from your computer is a good idea. That is also one of the benefits of having your genealogy files on the Internet in GEDCOM format in a place like WorldConnect--you can always retrieve the complete unedited file you updated in case of loss of data on your computer.
