Lloyd, I, too, am one that has lost valuable e-mails from AOL's unusual deletion practice. After knowing that an e-mail was "safely" saved in my personal filing cabinet, I would delete the one in the "IN" basket. I was not aware that AOL 9.0, when one deletes an e-mail in the "IN" basket, also deletes the same e-mail that is in personal filing cabinet. I lost many e-mails until I discovered through this list what was going on. And after my saved e-mails crashed (I had recently backed them up from the "organize" folder, so I still have them), I started backing up my e-mails on the AOL server. Unfortunately, the AOL server doesn't have "IN" and "SENT" folders. They're all intermixed in one folder.
