Judy- I remember AOL 2.5 also--remember the Webcrawler "browser" if you can call it that? In the OLD days I'd have agreed with you that for AOL the Internet was like an afterthought and proprietary content was the most important aspect of their service--however, they've come a long way and I access AOL via cable modem and I don't a bit of trouble with large downloads or uploads--works as well or better through AOL as it does without it.
