You were not getting that with the FREE McAfee? Mine updates regularly and DINGS when it is done and tells me when it is scanning--both the AV and the Spyzapper parts of the software. There shouldn't be ANY difference between the FREE and PAY McAfee versions except that there are additional "features" to the pay version--but that shouldn't have any effect on the A/V and Spyzapper applications.
