Hello I'm new to this list, and hope someone will help before I leave AOL. I've had a message saying my dialup sub is going to increase in November - the AOL package offered for broadband seems attractive, but only applies to BT lines, which I don't have. So I'm going to leave AOL and take out broadband with my cable supplier. The problem is that I have a large number of emails which I need to keep for reference. When I've read them I press 'Save on AOL'. I want to take these saved messages with me when I leave AOL. There are too many messages to transfer individually to my computer or to print out - I've been doing this for years. I'm not at all computer literate. Can anyone give me real 'dummy' instructions as to how I can transfer these emails so I can access them when I've left AOL? Thank you.
I know of no other way than the hard way... manually. AND on OLD SAVED AOL mail, forward will NOT work (at least for me). I've been slowly emptying each folder/label whatever AOL calls it by opening the mail and highlight/copy the subject line... open a Write New Mail...paste in the subject...flip back and copy the message...paste the message...copy the subject line from old ...paste to new...address it to me...click send... (work on next one while I'm waiting)... Check to see first sent mail arrived... if yes, delete the one from AOL's Saved Mail. Return to email #2 and continue with same steps. That's a heck of a lot of trouble. AND there's no "forward" on pictures from these saved mails. Can copy the whole email and see if it goes into a New Mail...or copy pic to harddrive. Conclusion: Plan to work a lot every day till your goal is complete. Unless someone has found a better idea?
