Hotmail "as is" is incompatible with Rootsweb mailing lists. Hotmail replies that include quoted messages are mangled, and are irritating to attempt to read.  However, there is a fix on the Rootsweb help desk that changes  Hotmail's default HTML with Tabitha font to plain text.  Anyone contemplating using Hotmail for Rootsweb lists MUST  change their default HTML to plain text, or listen to the agonized  screams of other Rootsweb list subscribers like me.    To change Hotmail so that it is compatible with Rootsweb  mail lists, follow the instructions found at:    http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/listadmins/plaintext.html    I happen to be using AOL web mail for this message due to  a registry problem related to MS SP3.
