Any free webmail application is MUCH slower than using a regular email client -- AOL or any other one. Hotmail currently doesn't seem to work too well with the RootsWeb lists in that the formatting is lost when a message is quoted in a reply--so far I've not seen a solution to that. It's free and according to them trouble free too. Patricia **************Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Read reviews on AOL Autos. Hotmail hates Rootsweb mailing lists. Hotmail replies with quoted messages are mangled, and very irritating to attempt to read. However, there is a fix on the Rootsweb help desk that changes Hotmail's default HTML with Tabitha font to plain text. Anyone contemplating using Hotmail for Rootsweb lists MUST change their default HTML to plain text, or listen to the agonized screams of other Rootsweb list subscribers like me. To change Hotmail so that it is compatible with Rootsweb mail lists, follow the instructions found at: http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/listadmins/plaintext.html I happen to be using AOL web mail for this message due to a registry problem related to MS SP3. I learned from that (or was it Joan?) how to change AOL web mail to plain text so it won't randomly ?? inject question ? marks all over ??? my messages ????? like this.
