    1. Re: [AOL-RW] Problem with AOL
    2. Hello AOLers! I don't know if their problem is the same as mine was yesterday, but I need to tell all of you what happened to me, just in case anybody has the same problem. I am a computer dealer out of my home, so I sent the following information to my AOL customers: >>Just wanted to let you know that I have been having a problem sending e-mails through my AOL software, as well as going on AOL's web site (_http://www.aol.com/_ (http://www.aol.com/) ) through Internet Explorer, for the last 2 days. I tried to send an e-mail - either in AOL's software or on their web site in Internet Explorer, a pop-up came up from AOL - called an "image challenge". They ask you to click on a link in the box, then that takes you to a web site that asks you to read & type the scrambled letters, then click "OK". I tried this (in my AOL software) and it let me do that once, but I still couldn't send e-mails without getting this "Image Challenge" box again and again. I could send e-mails through my 2nd AOL e-mail address, but not through my main (original) AOL E-Mail address - the one that you first set up, when you installed AOL. Sometimes, I could even send an e-mail to myself or to other people with an AOL e-mail address, but not to people with other Internet Providers than AOL. When I first called AOL, a tech told me they have had many other calls on this same problem and that they thought it was on their server. They told me to wait 12 hours and they should have my problem fixed - well, that didn't happen. I called a 2nd time and still nothing. The 3rd time, I decided to go online with Live Help from AOL. I always seem to have better luck with these techs. The tech had me to NOT use my AOL software and DO NOT go through AOL''s Internet Explorer to try sending an e-mail. BUT, instead, 'for the moment', have my AOL software open, and use this to go to AOL's web site. In other words, within AOL, go to _http://www.aol.com/_ (http://www.aol.com/) , to access my e-mail. Once I was there, when I tried sending an e-mail and the "image challenge" box would come up, I could then click on the link and read and type the scrambled letters and click on "OK". After doing this, I was finally able to send e-mails once again, in all 3 places - within AOL software, in AOL's web site - within AOL and in AOL's web site - through Internet Explorer. So, the only way to get this all working again, was to go to AOL's web site, within AOL's software. Really strange, I know, but it worked! Yeah!<< Hope this may help some of you but hope nobody else has to deal with this crazy problem! But, maybe this idea of going through AOL to get to AOL's web site, might help in other cases, as well, who knows? Have a great day! They contacted me and I gave them another address on another host and received it there. Both my friends and I pay, so I don't know the problem. **************Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges?
