Answers: 1) Yes, you can still keep all of your email addresses 2) You may cancel your AOL subscription either way, telephone or online. 3) Not installing AOL on a Mac is just the opinion of the person at the store. It took up the same amount of space on your PC laptop as it will on your MacBook. Do a little research on your own and then make up your mind based on the conclusions of your research. Do not allow the person at the store to sway your opinion. Sharon ----------------------------- In a message dated 10/7/2008 1:32:18 P.M. Over the years I have paid as much as $22.95 and as little as $9.95 a month for the service. I have always had 3 AOL email addresses, one for personal mail, one for my genealogy, and one that my husband uses. Two years ago, upon the urging of my adult children, I got a PC laptop and have always had dial up. This July I got a new MacBook and switched to high speed cable modem. I was told by the staff at the Apple Store the one thing I DID NOT want to do was download AOL to my MacBook. I have now been accessing my AOL mail on the Mac through a mail set up that they showed me how to use that imports my AOL mail over to this program. I can also access AOL from my browser. I can sign onto AOL that is installed on my PC laptop. My questions are: 1-Can I get free email with AOL and still keep all three of my email addresses? I have had the same email address for my genealogy for 14 years and would hate to have to switch it now. 2-Can I cancel AOL over the phone or can I do it online? 3-Are there any advantages to keeping the AOL service when I shouldn't install it on the Mac. The reason the Apple Store told me NOT to install it was due to the fact that AOL loads so much stuff onto your computer that you don't need and it takes up space and slows down your computer. Any comments would be appreciated.
