Right above where you're reading this, in the middle, is a little button with a down arrow. Click on that and it should open up to show the subj, date, etc. I don't know if going up to the top bar and clicking "Window" and telling it to "Remember settings" while one can see the subj, date, etc, will help or not, but one can try that.
