Yeah--I think so too--UNLESS the connectivity problem is with the MODEM itself. The error message related to connectivity--so there could be an issue with the phone line or the modem and not the AOL software. I have to admit though that the error message and problems with the software itself sound as if the issues are with the software and not the hardware or phone line. But if a reinstall doesn't fix it--then I'd check out the phone line (plug a phone into it and see if you can make a call) and also check the modem. Joan In a message dated 10/1/2008 2:29:55 P.M. You then sign on and AOL "re-collects" your screennames data which should then always appear after that first login (and logoff). As to the start up issue, re-install should make it go away. Also, if you had not re-installed, you could have tried Windows "Restore" first, putting the system back to a date before the error.
