Judy- We had a discussion about SP3 for XP a while ago on the SENIOR-NEWBIE list and the upshot of the discussion is that for MOST computers SP3 will be fine and you should download and install it. However, there was a problem with SOME computers I believe mainly ones that had AMD chips as opposed to Intel chips -- but the chips were not the real problem. The problem was how some manufacturers installed the operating system originally. I believe HP was mentioned as one manufacturer who installed XP on new computers through an "imaging" method that isn't approved by MS. If you had one of these computers where XP was improperly installed (but working fine) until you installed SP3 then it would put you into an endless boot loop and you couldn't reboot your computer. :( I THINK MS has resolved this problem and now SP3 can be successfully installed on any XP computer. I haven't dowloaded it -- still. I had enough trouble going from SP1 to SP2. I'm on WinXP. What OS do you use and what problems did SP3 cause to your PC? (Is that enough initialisms for everyone to read today? LOL) Judy **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sign up for FanHouse Fantasy Football today.
