I had this happen to me a day or so ago and I'm also using Norton. It's a long story, but I had to upgrade to a new Norton because of having to use a restore point, and not all kinds odd things have been going on. I haven't received the message again. Which Norton are you using? Dee V. In a message dated 12/30/2009 3:46:15 P.M. Yes, I have received that message several times. I use AVG and not the McAfee. I have also received several requests to critique AOL. Kay

Joan =================== I always have avast Web Shield and Virus protection running in the background when I'm online so it popped up a warning to move the Trojan to the Virus Chest. In the meantime I ran a virus scan and my computer was clean. I didn't get any warnings for any websites other than AOL so I don't think it was my computer but a problem with AOL. Since they've broken away from Time Warner, perhaps they're doing some new programming and something went wrong somewhere. It seems to me that it was a script problem since the warning said it was a JS:ScriptIP-inf. Whatever happened, it disappeared about 30 minutes after I emailed the list. Thanks all. Lou

I, too, have had the spam folder problem (numbers that won't go away) for over a week now. In fact, most of the time when you guys begin talking about a new problem with AOL, I will also have been having the same problem. It happens almost every time, so I just assume most AOL users are experiencing the same, and I don't bother to write you about it. Just thought I would let you know this time. I started having trouble with mine today. If one email address says 5 spam letter and I delete them....it will also say five when I change to another address, but there won't be any when I click on the spam button. Very frustrating. My spam folder counter is broke again, too. I deleted all in the spam folder, but it keeps saying that I have spam mail there. Woody ================ In a message dated 12/15/2009 1:08:02 P.M. My spam folder has been fine except for the fact that every few days some of my "finngen" mail goes into there even though some of it comes to new mail, all in the same day.. I always tell them it is not spam but doesn't seem to help. Nancy

Tom- Did you ask McAfee and, if so, what was their reply? (I noticed the ticket number in your subject--so I suspect you have asked them.) I had asked this question some time back and was told they are the same -- the free AOL (and Comcast) suites as the full package offered for a price. The only difference, so I was told, is that there may be more bells whistles on the pay package but nothing you really need to protect you. Joan In a message dated 12/18/2009 10:54:05 A.M. Well, like I said, 99% of the time.......... I had the same trouble day before yesterday and the Search Mail tab worked then, but I've had times when it didn't. When it doesn't I just shrug my shoulders and forget about it. Hiccups I guess :-) Sharon ----------------------- In a message dated 12/15/2009 11:08:07 A.M. I had this problem several days ago and it finally went away. Now nothing goes into my spam folder even though I have not made any changes to the filter. Kay
I, too, had the same problem of deleting spam, and yet the spam folder showed there were still 3 spam e-mails in the empty folder. I closed and reopened AOL, and nothing changed. . I figured it was a temporary AOL glitch, and it was, as at some point the false indication cleared up. Jon- I don't believe there is anything you can do...just wait it out and take some measure of reassurance in knowing I had the problem and it eventually went away seemingly of its own accord.
