Done. I knew that had to be a preference somewhere. Thank you. Kay
I think 9.0 SE should work the same as this: Click on MAIL in the AOL menu and select MAIL SETTINGS. Uncheck the box that retain all mail I read in my sent mail folder. About two weeks ago, Sara wrote: === Beginning yesterday, when I try to check my Spam Folder, I get a message that my software does not support this feature and recommends that I upgrade to a later version of AOL. === That day, I also had the same message (I use AOL 5.0). It didn't appear the next day, but neither could I reach the Spam Folder (I have to use the Keyword, as I have no Spam "button"). Some days the Folder appears, some days not. The time of day seems to have an effect (crazy, I know). Early morning, I never get it. 8 or 9 AM, nearly every day. Afternoons, don't get it. (All times Eastern). But I have never received the message that Sara mentioned since that one appearance. I don't really much care about the Spam Folder, as I rarely get more than 3 or 4 messages a day. I've never gotten many. But if I don't get a Spam Folder, I certainly hope that all of those messages then go to my regular incoming mail box - some of them are definitely desired letters and not Spam. I can easily delete the Spams before reading the letters. I had done that for years, before I decided to experiment with the Keyword possibility a year or so ago. And it worked !!! I had forgotten about the little glitch with the icons. Very annoying! I had extras showing up on my screen names that they didn't belong to as well as having maybe 3 or 4 sets of them on one name. I kept deleting the extras for a week or so and finally they stopped multiplying. I've been using 9.5 since the first week of November. One of mine has gone missing part of the time the last few days and I just noticed it's gone now. I hope it comes back soon (like next time I sign on to this screen name) because it's the only way I can get into one of my genealogy sites without going back through a bunch of old emails to find the link or pestering the owner to get it again. Good luck, hope yours straighten out soon too. In a message dated 2/6/2010 5:54:12 P.M. I was using 9.0 SE security edition and suddenly began having all kinds of issues. I contacted AOL and they had me remove 9.0 SE and download 9.0 VR. It is very similar to what I had except it has been running faster and I have fewer problems. Norma

I'm not used to using the tabs, as I use AOL for my browser. I have 3 AOL E-mail addresses and each one has an icon I put for Google, Underground weather, and a few other favorites that I like to keep on each site. What happens is that on one address I will have the weather icon show up 3 times....and also the Google Icon.....and also a few boards I'm on.....because they are set on each names Favorite places. Am I making sense? With 9.1 each name would only show the same favorites. They wouldn't change from name to name. My husband ended up with all my favorite icons on his E-mail site and couldn't get rid of them. I want the icons....but I only want one of each one and not 3 of each one on the bar. When I bought my new computer which has Win 7, the online info was that only 9.5 would work with it. I decided to put it on my laptop which has Vista at the same time. Seems to work fine, or at least as well as my old faithful 9.0 did. Vanette In a message dated 2/6/2010 2:01:00 A.M. Recently there was a discussion regarding the goofy numbering for the spam folder that is found at the bottom of the mailbox. It appears that some of the properties of the new web-based client has made the spam folder forget how to count, It is a known bug but has a very low priority for repair. So don't look for that to be fixed anytime soon.................... Ah-h-h-h progress! sometimes it seems like two steps forward and one step back . Now if I could just turn off my tunneling and turn on my Top Speed................. Sharon Dulcich
