    1. [AOL-RW] What happened to 'Old Mail'?
    2. Finally the last of my nemesis 'Vista' and have a new computer with Windows7. It also has AOL 9.5 on it and I have to know: What happened to 'Old Mail'? I don't like this new set up where the read mail is checked read but then it stays in the inbox unless completely deleted. It was much better when it went to old mail and left the new mail uncluttered. This is definitely not progress! any suggestions?

    2. Bev- Using AOL's email program is when you load the AOL program and logon and click the mailbox icon to view your mail within the AOL program. Web mail is when you just use any browser to go to the AOL Web site and read your mail one at a time on the Web site. The problem you described would only happen within the AOL program and is the result of a corrupted file. Joan In a message dated 4/23/2010 11:58:23 P.M. 2. You can also check with your new broadband provider as they may also offer a free antivirus protection. Comcast does, for one (they offer McAfee) and I believe Verizon has their own free program. Joan In a message dated 4/23/2010 9:52:06 P.M. Also almost every day a small box comes up in the bottom right corner saying "your computer is not protected" and then when you bring up McAfee it usually (not always) says I am protected. When it says I'm not, and I say fix it, occasionally it will come back and say "one or more files can not be fixed due to an error." But the next time it may be fine. I will go to one of the other free virus programs when I change to the free AOL. Thanks for your help. Nancy

    2. Nancy, I didn't really answer your primary question! Yes your emails will still be there. Nothing will change as far as the AOL client goes, you will continue with exactly what you have now. You don't have to download a 'different' program or uninstall what you have now. You can/may continue with what you have now, no changing anything at all. It's nice to be able to use AOL's web based mail if you're somewhere on the road, and a computer made available to you doesn't have AOL installed.
