I Googled spe.atdmt.comĀ and came up with a lot of hits concerning ads. Probably the web site was trying to load a popup ad or a popunder. Here's the Google URL http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&sa=G&q=%22spe.atdmt.com%22 Ann

It sounds like Macromedia is trying to update, but it's hard to be certain. Sharon
I just realized it started not too long after I updated Windows with the latest enhancements from MS... I have Windows XP Home edition. Did anyone else having the problem just update??
I'm getting the very same thing and it's getting to be tiresome. Every time I'm on line it pops up SEVERAL times. How can we stop it??? In a message dated 4/26/2006 5:00:31 A.M. I'm using dial-up & 9.0 Security Edition SE. Thanks, --------------- Judy, The TCP/IP connection is for cable, not for dial up. If you don't have a cable connection, then of course it won't find one to use. It sounds as if there is something wrong in the set-up for connecting and you might want to check it out. You can do that from the sign in window. Sharon

I ran a full scan and everything looks fine. I also went to the Adobe/Macromedia site but, being a bit computer illiterate, wasn't able to find anything helpful. After turning the computer off last night and starting it up again this morning I thought the problem had gone away since I didn't see the pop-up right away. Alas, it's back but doesn't seem to flash on as frequently. Nancy

I checked the domain name using whois. They have no information on the name "spe.atdmt.com". I agree that this looks like spyware. I would certainly run a scan for viruses, adware and spyware. You might also try contacting Adobe, who now owns Macromedia, or checking their free forums. Please let us know if you find out anything! Wilson

Yes, just last week, but I think I'll do it again. Thank you.

I was using someone else's computer this weekend and went onto the AOL.com web site. I didn't even notice that there were two ways to sign on. One under AIM and the other AOL. Both recognized my screen name but the AIM would not let me read my mail until I agreed to accept cookies. Of course, there was no way I was going to do that on someone else's computer. Thank goodness I finally noticed what I was doing since I was getting a little steamed about not being able to read my mail. What is the deal with this? I can't see any reason for me to change the setting on my computer at home either. What is so great about switching to AIM mail since several of you are doing so? Bettye
Thank you for the information. I uninstalled AIM it the pop up disappeared. Lisa

For others receiving the pop up, downloading the file has caused AIM to stop working and many other problems.
