Gay, I've noticed that the mail is slow, too. I suggest you send an email to the RootsWeb help desk and explain what you are experiencing. They might not be aware of any problem. Also, report the problem to the administrator of any RootsWeb list for which you are not receiving email. Jon Raymond St Paul Park, MN Web site: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~raymond/

Joan, better late the never, but I checked and I was subbed to Ancestry and Rootsweb. The last Rootsweb Review I received was April 19. I received Ancestry on April 17, and again on Apr 24 I received another April 17 issue. Hope this information helps. Betty
I have received the Review this week and last, but just realized I have not gotten the Ancestry one for some time. Janet
I just discovered that email notification of replys to my posts on philyblog have been blocked by aol. I switched my email address on philyblog from aol to my verizon email address and now rec the post notifications. Milton E. If so, please check the newsletter center to see if you have also been unsubbed. I would also like to know if anyone DID receive the RWR or Ancestry newsletter at their AOL address in the past two weeks. Please post replies ON the list so that I can refer someone at Ancestry/RootsWeb to the comments in the list archives if we can ascertain that there is a problem. Thanks! Joan, admin Hi, I noticed that I hadn't received the Ancestry Weekly, but thought it was something I had absent mindedly done. (Read the 8 May addition by going to Ancestry.) So, after reading the above I also discovered I was not listed as being subscribed to RWR or Ancestry Newsletter. Have also resubscribed. I enjoy reading this list. Joan in Scottsdale, AZ

I'm not sure--but it doesn't seem to be a universal problem--although enough people didn't receive their RWR starting last week that we must assumed "something" happened for some of us. I guess the best advice is -- if you have not been receiving your copy of the RWR and you want to be subscribed (and who doesn't?), visit the newsletter center and and make sure the box is checked off to subscribe to the RWR (and Ancestry Weekly also if this is your choice). http://newsletters.rootsweb.com/ Joan
I did not receive it Thanks
Joan, I have been receiving Ancestry Weekly with no problem, but realized when I saw your post, that I have not received RWR for some time. Checked the newsletters site and found that I was unsubscribed. Don't know when or how this happened and is it an AOL or Rootsweb problem? Kitty
Thank you for the information. I wanted to block mail from My Space on my daughters computer. Nancee, Ca.

Or, to filter out a particular word in email address? Nancee, Ca. Sure, you can block a person's email address by using a "custom sender list." Here is how you do it: Click on the MAIL menu at the top of your AOL screen. Select BLOCK UNWANTED MAIL. Click on EDIT SENDER FILTER. Click on USE CUSTOM SENDER LIST. Mark the radio button that says BLOCK ALL SENDERS and DOMAINS LISTED BELOW. Type or paste in the address or domain to be blocked and click the ADD button and then the SAVE button and then close out the various windows you opened under the MAIL menu. If you block an email address of someone who regularly posts on a RootsWeb list generally that mail will still come through to you (but private emails from the person will be blocked). I've found that the list messages from blocked people come to my spam folder. You do want to be careful though that you don't create a situation where this makes your list mail bounce bounce because of refusing mail from a sender. Note that only the BLOCK ALL SENDERS and DOMAINS LISTED BELOW will work with RootsWeb lists and not the other setting that only permits mail to get through from approved senders--that doesn't work with lists.
