    1. Re: [AOL-RW] More ads appearing
    2. I never see AOL ads - I use Mozilla Thunderbird for all my AOL mail and Mozilla Firefox for browsing. The only time I need to use AOL software is if I wanted to change passwords or to block senders - I haven't investigated whether it is possible to do things like that through the aol.com site. Listers without their own non-AOL anti-viral, anti-spyware and anti-adware software should not change away from AOL software though. 2. If they have changed, then they haven't "hit" my machine with a update that defeats the ad hiding trick yet. I verified that the all adjustments worked before I sent out my last e-mail with the "how-to". And by the way, with the frustration going on, if one wants to transfer their AOL mail to Outlook Express, by a quirk of Outlook Express, it can be transferred and saved to be *exactly" as received in AOL while included in Outlook Express. However, it's a bit slow as each AOL e-mail must be forwarded to the new OE address one at a time. Woody +++++++++++++++++ JRAYMOND651@aol.com writes: Barbara, You are correct. The method used to resize the listed mail window, i.e., the window that shows all waiting emails, will not work to resize the window used to read an individual email. When you try to pull down from the top, the white space that shows the email text shrinks, but the banner ad at the bottom will not disappear until you only have 2-4 lines of email text showing. AOL changed something. Anyone want to bet that AOL is trying to find a way to undo the resizing we've done of the listed mail window? What's next? We will have to click on an ad before we can read an email? Oooops...maybe I shouldn't have said that! Jon Raymond

    2. Everything is slower now. The sites load more slowly, the banner ads all load before anything else and delays mail loading, etc. Is it my imagination or is AOL getting worse instead of better. I think it's because they add too many frills that lots of folks don't need or want. But then, that's just an opinion and everyone has one.

    2. Dorothy, Ya know, I had followed the tip on this list about getting rid of the annoying advertising at the bottom of the listed mail page by resizing and locking the page with the advertising moved down and hidden. It's been working so blissfully well I had forgotten about the fact the annoyance existed. You get rid of the annoying advertising at the bottom of the listed mail by resizing and moving and then going to "Window" and "Remember Window size and position". Doesn't that work?
