It is keyword "tell us more," not "tell us." My mistake. I just had an online chat with technical support, but it was obvious the guy was just sending me "cookie cutter" responses. What was interesting was that I initially just asked for an email address to lodge a complaint "regarding recent changes to the email window." My exact words. He immediately responded that I must have "a concern about the advertisements on the AOL Read/Write Mail window." That speaks volumes. Anyway, this "technician" stated "The read/write mail ads are selected to offer products and services that might appeal to AOL members. It is not possible to resize or removed the advertisements." He then stated that he would forward to the "appropriate department." When I asked for that email address, he said there wasn't one. Jon Raymond ------------ I have lodged my own complaint with Tell Us More. Of course the ads themselves are not able to be moved or resized, BUT the entire email window IS able to be resized. Yes, it will cause a scroll bar to appear to the right of the AOL desktop, but I don't have to scroll down! Being able to move the entire window down is a feature of Windows and not something that AOL can change. But don't expect them to tell you how to NOT see their horrid ads. Maybe this is being rolled out by area, I don't know. Usually I'm in California, but right now I'm in Maryland and I get them. Honestly, I understand that advertising is a part of our daily lives, but if they have to have ads, they could at least choose more tasteful ones. I'm a big-time dog lover and have raised dogs most of my life and I can promise you that I've never seen a specimen like the one on that current ad. It scares my grandchildren! Brother! I'm disgusted..... Sharon

Maybe there is something different to the change I've experienced. ++++++++++++++++++ I don't have the ads yet on my individual e-mails, so I can't experiment with the problem. However, in Sharon's fix, she does not mention moving the scroll bar on the main page to move the whole screen up and down, allowing one to stretch the individual page further using the double arrow hook to pull the bottom down. Theoretically, when one slides the scroll bar for the main page back up, that should hide the offending ads on the individual mail page. Does the ad at the bottom of the individual email page float back up into view with the main scroll bar anyway? Woody

    2. Sharon, I doubt the developers had the final say with this change. I'm sure it was another department whose job it is to plot more ways to put more ads on the internet. Yes, I did complain...I sent identical complaints to both "tell us" and "postmaster," but I doubt it will have any effect. If AOL has to choose between generating more money and satifying its customers, we know who will win that one. The sites load more slowly, the banner ads all load before anything else and delays mail loading, etc. Is it my imagination or is AOL getting worse instead of better. I think it's because they add too many frills that lots of folks don't need or want. But then, that's just an opinion and everyone has one. I agree. Too many bells and whistles.

I did it that way and I've been able to read my mail without seeing that horrible dog! or whatever else they have put there.
