    1. Re: [AOL-RW] More ads appearing
    2. Joan, Dave is complaining, rightly so, about the ads on both the window that lists all emails and the Read/Write Email window. I have not checked the archives as I don't remember when the first issue arose, but if memory serves me correctly...a danger thing...the procedures to hide the ads in both windows are slightly different. For the former, one uses the double-head arrow for all re-sizing, but the latter requires using both the double-headed arrow and the cursor. (At least I had to use both the arrow and cursor for the latter.) Am I correct? Perhaps what is needed is a single posting with a subject line such as "How to Hide the Ads" that details the procedures to hide the ads in both windows. Dave- We just covered this on the list, once you slide the window down to cover the ads THEN you next place your cursor at the top of the dark blue bar on top of your email window and when the cursor turns to a double edged arrow you drag the window and resize it making it as high vertically as you want it. Then as a final measure, once you get the window sized and placed where you want it--bring down the window menu and select REMEMBER WINDOW SIZE and POSITION. Joan

    1. More ads appearing
    2. I now have adds in two places and I suspect that the discussion as been confusing some, at least me, regarding adds that can be covered and ones that can't. There are adds that appear below the main mail box listing mail received and they can be covered while reading mail, by increasing the size of the mail box. Starting today there are now adds on each individual piece of mail. As described, if you lower the top of the mail box low enough the add disappears but the box is too small with few lines of mail showing. That's not satisfactory. If the adds were stationary they could be ignored, but I'm watching a skier today. It seems the best way to object to this is to get a new ISP. The second best is to sign up for e-mail service with ??????, and make the changes necessary. If you were interested in choice two what mail service would you choose? Dave Florida

The ad is well imbedded within the body of the individual Email. HELP Barbara D.

You want to be moving it. Do NOT allow your curser to become a double arrow at the top when you MOVE the window. It should remain a curser, the point of which is within the colored bar at the top of the email window. Click and hold, then you move the curser which will drag the whole window wherever the curser goes. The window does not change size while you are doing this dragging. After you get the bottom of the window placed where you want it, THEN move your curser further up and allow it to change to a double arrow and this time increase the size of your email window by moving the top UP. Sharon>> ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ OK fellas, I got zapped with the "append an ad to the bottom of the individual message" update. No problem. Do like Sharon says above. However, there's more that can be done. Place the cursor on the blue bar, left click, and shove the blue bar under the main screen's tool bar. When the blue bar is shoved under the main screen tool bar, note that, over to the far right, the vertical scroll bar appears (if it hasn't already). Pull the slider down, which moves the whole screen up. Now hook on to the bottom of the message and stretch it down all the way. Move the whole screen back down, and you'll notice a shift at the top so that you can move the individual message screen up some more, so shove it up under the main tool bar again, move the whole screen up, and repeat the whole process several times. This process results in getting the message longer and longer, little by little, but eventually you've got the blue top bar up as far as it will go, and the ad hidden. Then do a "Window > Remember Screen Size and Position". UNLESS they're pulling a Netzero "can't get rid of a floating banner" trick. Woody
