Hi, Until recently, I could delete multiple emails in my PFC by pressing the shift key and hilighting multiple messages, then delete. This does not work for me anymore. What am I doing wrong? Have AOL 8.0, Windows XP Sara
In a message dated 7/10/2006 7:06:21 PM Eastern Standard Time, ENC6@aol.com w rites: Joan, I could not get to the website to check if I get it in html or plain text or not. I keep getting web site found waiting for reply and it won't load. But.. in the headers it says: content type: text/html Does that mean anything? And my version is: 9.0 Security Edition Revision 4184.5314 Thanks and take care - Emma The Newsletter Center comes right up for me: http://newsletters.rootsweb.com/ However, the above probably means you get it in HTML format. I guess we have enought feedback now from AOL users who received the garbled Journal--but I'd like to hear from anyone who received it correctly--if anyone did. Joan

Joan I subscribe to neither AWJ nor RWR, but received a non-gen message from my husband's office on Friday which looked just like the RWR that was posted to the list. I'm waiting with bated breath to hear what you find out! Today's Ancestry Weekly Journal was garbled. I receive it in html version on AOL 9.0 Security Edition SE Revision 4184.5314. Several weeks ago, I received a e-mail which was also garbled but not a newsletter. I called AOL rep, he told me it was a problem with my Sony ... gave me their number and said I needed to download a new driver. I haven't bothered to call Sony since I'm pretty sure AOL was passing the buck. Thanks for all the time and effort you're putting into this problem, we do appreciate you! Gail Vacaville, CA
Correction from Jeanne. I receive it in HTML and not text.
I received it 'garbled'. I get it in 'plain text' and I use 'AOL 9.0 Optimized SE' Jeanne
Did anyone receive an ungarbled newsletter? Everyone who responded received the garbled version. Kay

Go here: http://newsletters.rootsweb.com/ ...type in the email address you use to subscribe to the newsletters and click the button. The results page will show you which newsletters you are subscribed to and the radio buttons at the bottom of the page will tell you if you are subbed in plain text or HTML. Joan

I'm trying to ascertain how many of you received today's Ancestry Weekly Journal garbled (just like last week's RootsWeb Review). I've been in touch with both Myra Gormley (about the RWR) and Juliana Smith (about the Ancestry Weekly Journal). Juliana asked me to ask AOL subscribers the following questions (please post your replies to this list where we can gather the information needed to troubleshoot the problem). Tell us whether or not you received the Journal today in a garbled form and also please let us know the answers to the following questions: 1) Do you receive a plain text or html version of the newsletter? 2) What version of AOL are you using? Juliana also informed me that: you can access a readable version in the Ancestry.com Library at: http://www.ancestry.com/learn/library/article.aspx?article=dailynews (Note: I am aware that the photographs are missing, but they will be rolled later today. They are available on the blog at: http://blogs.ancestry.com/circle/) Thanks for any input to help resolve the problem. Joan, admin
