Thanks Joan (I think!). I was afraid you would say that! I have hundreds of "sent emails" in my AOL 8.0 PFC. Can AOL delete mail from my PFC on AOL 8.0 if I do not use that version to go online? Otherwise let your email cycle out of your New mail, Old mail areas on it's own. Sharon

Maybe for safety sake I should put all that mail in folders (Oh, please tell me I do not need to do that!) What is the length of time mail in 9.0 will stay under "Mail You've Sent" before AOL deletes it? That is when I first noticed this also---when I upgraded to AOL 9.0. Is this true with "mail you've sent" as well? In mail preferences I have marked the option to save all sent mail. In the past if I did not want to keep copies of mail I sent I deleted it but all other messages were still listed under mail sent. It seems now mail sent is not kept indefinitely (last message in my PFC under Sent Mail is dated May 31, 2006). I have started saving copies of sent mail I want to keep in a folder. This only began happening when I upgraded from 8.0 to 9.0. My old AOL 8.0 still has all my sent mail even if I did not save it to a folder (Mail sent from 20 July 2001 to March 23 2005). Any mail you specifically delete from the AOL server that you had saved in the default incoming saved mail folder is probably vulnerable to being deleted along with the copy you delete. Seems odd but they started doing this as the result of too many AOLers unknowingly saving all incoming mail and not realizing how much was building up in their PFCs until they had computer problems

For a long time I have not had those scary emails from someone pretending to be AOL, wanting to verify my account number & etc. However, seems like it is one a day lately. I want to send these to AOL. Is the address still TOSEmail1? That is what I used to send to, but want to be sure it goes to the correct mailbox. thanks, Joyce in Louisiana

If that is the case, how are we supposed to remove it from the inbox since saving it to the PFC does not remove it from the inbox. Mustwe just allow it to become read mail and wait for AOL to delete it? I must be missing something here. Sorry.... I am also having praoblems with aol getting around. It hangs my mouse and wont let me go any where, so I got disgusted and turned it off. Today may be a little better but I doubt it. ew
I, too, just receeived the Review, all in code. Patti

Opened everything again and the problems were corrected. Bettye
I bragged too soon -- today's (7-12) RWR is garbled; none of the previous ones were. AOL 9.0 Optimized SE, HTML format. Vanette
Just received RootsWeb Review--July 12th and it is all in code. Susanne
thanks Joan!!!
Hi folks, just wanted to let you know that I received another garbled RootsWeb Review newsletter today, Vol. 9, No. 28 July 12. I hope that it will get corrected soon. Patricia.

To All- If your copy of today's RootsWeb Review arrived in the garbled format there is now a "work around" until the problem is solved. Send a new email to: RWR-POST@rootsweb.com and a text copy will be emailed to you that isn't garbled. You can leave the subject and message body blank or you can put something like Send RWR like I did. Joan

It is more likely that something at RootsWeb/Ancestry resulted in your newsletters being checked off as HTML than anything you did on your computer or that AOL did. Joan
I just checked my newsletter subscriptions at _http://newsletters.rootsweb.com/_ (http://newsletters.rootsweb.com/) . For some reason, the box to select the format was now checked for HTML. I don't recall ever making this choice. I changed it back to text only. I wonder if some recent update to Windows or AOL might have made this change?
