Ann Turner Ann- I haven't used automatic AOL since the days when I was paying for AOL dialup by the hour, so I can't speak with any degree of certainty--but I would not think it would make any difference how you read the mail--as long as you logged onto AOL and deleted the mail from your "old mail" on AOL's server and as long as you had stored it in the default incoming saved mail folder in your PFC. I'm assuming that automatic AOL deposits the mail there by default? Joan

All I know is that I have in my AOL. 8.0 PFC all the mail I sent between 20 July 2001 and 13 March 2005. If there was sent mail I did not want to keep I deleted it - all the rest is there. There is an option in preferences to "Keep all mail I have sent". I marked that option. If that sent mail starts to disappear after all this time I am going to be very angry! Judy Judy- It depends on where that "sent mail" is located. AOL still deletes your sent mail after a time as it flows off the servers BUT if you SAVE all your sent mail in a default folder it should stay there in AOL 8.0. Joan

It seems as if, with the recent problem with the newsletters, no one was really sure whether they were subbed to the Ancestry Weekly Journal in plain text or HTML mode. It seems now in hind sight that no matter which mode I was subbed in (HTML) I was actually receiving the Journal in plain text. I'm wondering if ANY AOLers were actually receiving the Journal (before the problem with the garbled text) in HTML. If you want to see what the HTML copy would look like it would look something like this but without the header: http://www.ancestry.com/learn/library/article.aspx?article=11322 I'd be interested in knowing if anyone was actually *receiving* the Journal in HTML format. OK, thanks Sharon. I am assuming since on AOL 8.0 they will not take mail out of my saved mail when it is deleted from my mailbox they will also not delete mail from "Mail you've sent".
