Hello, I'm new to this list, but have been a list administrator for several years. Since my list moved to the new system, I'm receiving Digests, but not individual messages. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks, Kaye Larrabee

Hi, I live a few miles away in Fairfield. The AOL browser is difficult to use when using SNAP. I just use the Internet Explorer browser and have no problem. Another point, you have to go to the SNAP website to get on. Phyllis

Gail, The AOL Safety and Security Center (SSC) firewall is different from the Windows Firewall from Microsoft. The Windows firewall will only protect you from incoming threats while the firewall in the SSC will protect you from both incoming threats as well as outgoing threats. If I were you I would turn off the Windows firewall and ONLY use the one in the SSC. You should not be intimidated by your own firewall! It works for you; you don't work for it....... Sharon Dulcich
I apologize for this topic not having to do with Rootsweb, but I recently read that some can use Heritage Quest Online through their local public library. When I tried this morning it would not accept my card number and I got the following message: These databases are provided through subscriptions underwritten by the Solano, Napa, and Partners (SNAP) Library Consortium. If you have trouble accessing any of these databases and you have a personal firewall, set your personal firewall to allow referring urls. I am afraid to mess with my firewall without knowing what I am doing ... can anyone out there guide me through the steps? I believe I may have two firewalls, but am not certain. I have the Security from AOL, does that include the Windows firewall that I find on my Control Panel? Too confused ... and will be thankful for any help. This came too soon after road work in my area cut through my phone line yesterday and I lost my line to the outside world! Gail Vacaville, CA
