Does anyone else have this problem? Is it an AOL problem or a Windows problem? Thanks for any help. Sandy Sandy- The red x in an email generally indicates the graphic file that is embedded (or supposed to be) wasn't sent correctly. On a webpage the red x also represents a graphic file that isn't accessible--either temporarily or because it is missing. You can try reloading the page to see if it comes up the second time around--but it won't always load even then--if it is no longer accessible or the link to it is bad. So it isn't a Windows problem and also isn't an AOL problem--the issue is on the other end. Joan
I got such a letter also. I was likewise puzzled. But then I looked at my account info and noted that my credit card expiration date was now outdated. I called AOL and talked with them, got the situation cleared up and the new expiration date in place. And we are now living happily ever after. Unfortuantely, the e-mail they send is not specific and actually confusing, so one must follow up. In short, it turned out not to be a spam as I feared. Bill

I get that too but never have the problem when using Internet Explorer so apparently it's AOL, not windows.

I've accidentally hit the 'Report Spam' button when what I really meant to hit was either the Add Address or Print icon. I was very grateful to be able to retrieve it from the spam folder. Hi I was receiving neither until I found out that you have to have a different E-mail address for letters and the digest. As I read all the letters as a list admin, I don't bother with the digest. if you want it you must unclick one of the ticks and subscribe under a different name for the digest. Since my list moved to the new system, I'm receiving Digests, but not individual messages. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks, Kaye Larrabee Kaye- When SOME (not all) of the lists were migrated to the new system, if an address was subbed in L and D mode (both modes), the address was transferred over ONLY in D mode in error. This is due to the fact that under the new system a single address cannot be subbed in more than one mode at the same time. We had been told we'd be transferred in L mode--but in some cases we were not. To switch yourself over to L mode go to your list admin tools page for the list and click on Membership Management. Locate your address and remove the check mark uner Digest for your address and click the button to submit the change. To remain subbed in both modes either subscribe an alternate email address (or screen name) to the Digests or subscribe your list admin address to the digests--your admin address is: LISTNAME-admin@rootsweb.com -- be sure to replace the generic word LISTNAME with the actual list name.
