    1. Re: [AOL-RW] looping ads
    2. Same here--I hide them also--but you can't hide the ones on the confirmation that your email has been sent -- and I had the looping occur on one of those as well as the buried ads. Sometimes, if you wait it out AOL begins responding again--but other times it doesn't. Joan In a message dated 8/20/2008 11:48:11 A.M. 1. Re: [AOL-RW] typing faster than AOL shows the type on the email
    2. This has nothing to do with your being on dial up. It has to do with the ads that load at the bottom when you open an email or email reply window. I've had the ads loop and loop and sometimes it eventually stops and you can type again and the "Not Responding" notation goes away and other times you have to end task in task manager to exit AOL. I suspect it is the result of poorly executed code. The problem seems to be intermittent. It was happening earlier this morning. Joan In a message dated 8/19/2008 1:13:56 P.M. Gerri Mason Ohio I do NOT have the problem with AOL trying to restart though--I think you need to check to be sure you don't have a box marked off someplace in your settings that tells AOL to reconnect when closed. 1. Re: [AOL-RW] No where else to complain
    2. Judy- It doesn't do that for me. However, if I click the red x to close the AOL program it minimized ALL programs I had running and they no longer appear on the bottom left of the VISTA taskbar. Yikes! The first time that happened to me I thought closing AOL had actually CLOSED ALL programs I had running. I soon learned that the programs were still running but I had to click (or double click--forget which now) the icon on the taskbar on the right next to the clock to get them to pop back up and reappear on the left side of the task bar as a running program. I'm in the habit of clicking on the link in the lower left taskbar to bring the program i want to the front--but this totally baffled me that that they had all disappeared just because I closed out AOL. Now I know to use the File Close or exit to close out the AOL program and that leaves my other programs where I want them. I do NOT have the problem with AOL trying to restart though--I think you need to check to be sure you don't have a box marked off someplace in your settings that tells AOL to reconnect when closed. I'm not sure where that might be--but I think there is a box in the settings someplace. Joan In a message dated 8/19/2008 1:34:38 A.M. 3. gmail does an excellent job with sending mail. I've had very few List bounces (our Admin for 1 county forwards the item to the list & it shows as a bounced one). To get a copy of your sent mail, add your name as CC or BCC. Yes, I know that doesn't prove it got to a List, but using CC does help sanity (did I send that? or did I forget?)
