I'm curious. By any chance.... are you reacting to SUBJECT LINES that recently have been saying "Blocked" -- like this thread I'm replying to has the subject "Re: [AOL-RW] Blocked- reply to ew (Wrakj1234)". I am changing the subject line now to "To Wrakj1234 - from Judy, AOLERS Help List" Is the "blocked" subject line the problem? If so, there is no problem... it is just a subject someone started as a thread. There have probably been 20 or more replies (well, it seems like 20-- lol). A "Bounce" from a RW List would have a different subject and would likely come from Admin address. If another ISP (yahoo... gmail... who-ever) would not really send a "bounce" email notice -- and only a few send a "blocked" notice (IF one of their customers blocked your email). Copy the entire "Details" section and send it (OFF List) to Joan-- she's great at figuring out email pathways. I may be wrong, but misinterpreting the subject line is SO easy to do sometimes. We all react to emotionally-charged words like "You've been blocked" (by the way, that's a favorite subject used by spammers-- your credit card, bank account, web account, paypal account has been "blocked"). Look over one of the emails again... is it the subject line that you are reacting to? I don't know what you mean by saying you are being "flooded by blocked replies." What I do know is that you have your AOL Custom Sender Filter set to reject mail from at least one RootsWeb mailing list to which you were subscribed (but were unsubbed from due to bouncing mail caused by your blocking the list mail). Aside from that I have no idea what mail you are being "flooded by." Joan In a message dated 9/5/2008 8:25:14 P.M. Ruth- Nothing has changed on our end. The sender was ALWAYS the poster if you are subscribed to a list in L mode. The REPLY TO address can be either the list or poster depending upon the LIST settings and also depending upon the individual poster's email program settings. This list is set for REPLY TO list. If you sub to those lists in digest mode you won't have that problem because the digests come from the list address. In the case mentioned below the address being blocked WAS the list address and the subscriber was subbed to the digests--so nothing I could do but unsub the person--they clearly were blocking mail FROM the list and not just another individual.
