    2. Aha...thanks. I've never used the AOL Computer Checkup--so I've never seen that. I use the Settings > Internet [web] Options > Internet Explorer Settings route to deleting temp files. 2. Judy- If the only browser she is using is the AOL browser there wouldn't be much point in clearing the temp Internet files anyplace other within AOL that I can see. One thing though...I don't understand where she is seeing all the counts as to the files being removed. When I clean out the temp Internet files in AOL they just go--there is no display that tells me exactly what is being deleted. Joan In a message dated 10/5/2008 1:10:03 P.M. 3. Every Web Page / Browser Window you open creates a Temp File, including AOL's. Rotating (changing) ads will also create some temps. If you do it through AOL, close all Windows -- Welcome Screen, Mail, and don;t "do" anything until the process finishes. Don't bother going back to check it-- once is enough. 3MB is rather small in the graphic-rich computer world of today. 500+ may only reflect that you: visited many pages; had many graphics/ads/pictures since the last time; opened more windows than on other days. It's always based on the user's usage of the Web (which includes AOL). Rather than doing it through AOL, why not do the same thing through Internet Explorer> Tools> Internet Options? 1. Re: [AOL-RW] AOLERS-ROOTSWEB Digest, Vol 3, Issue 253
    2. Patricia- That would be the only possible explanation. Some spam filters are set to "trick" a sender into thinking the address is not valid when it really is if they suspect the message is spam. This is done by bouncing the presumed spam back with the User Unknown reason. If it only happened a few times randomly I'd say that perhaps Comcast was just having server problems -- but not if it CONSISTENTLY happens with forwarded mail and replies but not with new messages. That would indicate something in the filters. Joan In a message dated 10/4/2008 11:39:03 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: In a message dated 10/4/2008 7:59:10 P.M. Her son knows computers pretty well, so I will tell her to have him check the filters to see if that is the problem. It is really frustrating! Thanks for the hint!
