I bet your PC is not new and doesn't know the new rules set by Congress. It set itself back an hour because daylight savings time used to end last week-end. <very big grin> You can manually fix it by clicking on the time and then changing it. Then you'll have to fix it again when daylight savings really does end. Ruth In a message dated 10/27/2008 6:32:47 A.M. Sounds like your computer never received the patch that updated the time change from last weekend to next weekend (in the USA) so for a week (unless you manually change the time) you will be an hour off--and next weekend the time WILL change and you will be correct as of that time. Do you receive Windows updates automatically? Are you keeping them current? Sounds like you missed that one. Joan In a message dated 10/27/2008 8:32:36 A.M. Sharon- Are you SURE you are talking about a NEW Welcome page or might the page you are seeing when you have the "disconnect" problem be the OLD smaller Welcome page showing up? That has happened to me a few times and the page only shows up when the actual current Welcome page doesn't load properly/timely and that creates a "not responding" situation and eventually disconnects you. The new tool is installed -- so if an AOL 5.0 poster whose mail was previously blocked wants to attempt sending a post to the list we'll see if it works. If you want to BCC me also then I'll know if it does NOT make the list. Also, those of you using AVG who had to remove the footer or not check outgoing mail want to attempt sending a message to the list WITH the footer--please feel free to try. The RootsWeb techie is working on the problem with the AVG 8 footers and has a tool nearly ready to remove/strip those footers and not just trash the emails coming to lists. We are wondering whether this new tool might also work for AOL 5.0 users who haven't been able to post to lists unless they use webmail--because of the footer AOL adds. Could one of the AOL 5.0 users send me an email to: [email protected] so that I can show the headers to the techie working on this tool? Don't try posting to the list because it isn't in place yet--just send an email (not using webmail) from AOL 5.0 to me at the list admin address. Don't send it to my AOL address as it wouldn't include headers if you did that--but it will if you send it to the list admin address above. Thanks!
