    3. Hello fellow ANZ-ADMINS, From today, and only for a limited time (say 12 months) I am able to offer many Australian mailing lists that I have been babysitting or that come into my possession recently (maybe by nefarious means). These mailing lists are currently available at 100% discount of their previous unbelievable price of $0. Currently this offer is only available to subscribers of the ANZ-ADMINS list. The lists are listed below. Most of them don't require further description, but I have added to those that may. Happy shopping. Never to be repeated pricing. Next time they will be 150% off. 3. Thank you Michael. Marg has responded  from that new address and we are sorting out her lists. Off topic, can I claim a record? I have adopted an aus-??? list that has over 1,400 addresses on the banned list (most appear to spam). 3. Hi Peter, Marg changed her email address to genknut@iinet.net.au a few years ago. Give this one a go. Many of you will have a better understanding than me. Personally I find some of the advantages/disadvantages of the new software to be a mixture for both admins and subscribers, but that is a personal preference, and others on this list will have different preferences. I have got my first list back up and running, hopefully in the way I imagine it should work. Time will tell. This is my first post to ANZ-ADMINS to see if you are still awake. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of the consequences of the way RW did the upgrade is that it contacted ALL list admins at their last known eddress requesting them to re-register as an admin. If the eddress bounced or the person did not respond, then the lists allocated to that admin were put up for adoption. Rather than let these aus lists fall into the "wrong" hands, I adopted all that I could, hoping to track down the original owner, or offer them to a sincerely interested person. I will this determine what lists (10-20) are available and give the members of this list first choice, but I am still in the process of tracking down previous owners. One such owner is Marg Morters of which many of her lists were orphaned. The last known address I have for her is genknut1@gmail.com Does anyone have the latest/current address for Marg? 1. [ANZ-ADMINS] Welcome to Mailman3 lists
    2. Peter Lakeman
    3. Hello fellow aus list owners. Things have been very active on the Rootsweb mailing lists over the last 2-3 months as Rootsweb have upgraded from Mailman version 2 to Mailman version 3 for their mailing lists. For those that are subbed to the ListOwners list, you will have seen the confusion as the upgrade occurred with its teething troubles and may have sorted out your list ownership. For those that are not subbed to the ListOwners list, I will talk to you later in this email. Also subscribers will mentioned below. *Subbed to Listowners?* By now you should have registered your email address and be confirmed as the list owner of your lists and have bookmarked a sign-in page to get to get to owners list. You will need to have supplied the email address you used as the previous owner/admin and a new password. If you have used multiple addresses ownership of your list, you need to do this for each (beyond my knowledge). If you did not do this before 31 March, you may have lost ownership of your lists and need to get them back. Once registered, sign in, click on your owner name (top right)and then click on "mailman settings". From there you can see what lists you own and what lists you are subbed to (I think this replaces Password central). Click on a list in the left column and you can see all the subscribers and set up all the details of your list. *Not subbed to Listowners?* If you are are unaware of the changes, you need to register the email address that you previously used to admin your list(s). Hopefully just one address, or you need to do it multiple times. Start at       http://home.rootsweb.ancestry.com/listindexes/setupadmin and follow all the steps to register. They mainly want the address that you previously used as admin and a NEW password. *Subscribers.* Subscribers do not have to do anything to receive their posts. I believe that their previous settings have been carried through.* * Rootsweb have decided to allow subscribers to set their own settings in this current version. The list owner can set overall mailing list default settings such as list/digests and format of digests, and they can specialize them for individual subscribers. Also subscribers can have control of how they receive their message. To this they must register their subscription address (very similar to admins registering their address). For a user to control the format of their received emails, they need to register their user emails as shown in       http://home.rootsweb.ancestry.com/listindexes/setupmail I believe this overrides any list default or admin settings. *Disclaimers* The above is my experience and may not be totally accurate. There are others on this list, that  have more experience. ListOwners is generally a better source of information, but if you have problems, you may find it easier to use this list on this occasion. Cheers Peter
